no one reported symptoms.

If there had been any significant amount of marihuana in those cakes there would have been 'symptoms'. Symptoms that any teacher would have noticed, let alone the school nurse.

Uncontrollable laughter at trivial cause.

OH WOW! for no reason.

And so on.

I think this is just one little girl's spite.

However, if the tests come back positive, I will re-evaluate this post.

From the article:

Students were interviewed, officials said, and a cupcake was tested and an undisclosed amount of marijuana was found.

I missed it the first time too.

Not necessarily. Not everyone gets high the first time they eat cup cakes or brownies with marijuana in them. Some don't even get high the first time they smoke it.

As far as the incident itself, the kids should not have done this, it was stupid and they should be punished. But as usual the school, parents, those involved will go overboard in their reaction to it. Sounds like they already have if they are running tests on the kids.
