I've developed a new Flash film for everyone's review.
It's about 2.6MB in size; if you're on dialup it will
take a while to load.
If you like it, all I ask is that you pass the link
around... and if not, I'd love some constructive
criticism. :)

Thanks for the compliments. Anyone feel like posting it over at DU? (grin) I've already put it up on Atlantic Monthly forums and I doubt the reception from the folks there will be warm.
They refer to me there as a "proto-fascist neo-colonialist". Isn't that a great label?

Fabulous! Only one thing: on the last pic (soldier in Afghanistan) you use the word "ideas" and I think you meant "ideals".

I'm running dial-up AOL (don't laugh) at home; testing it gave me about 3-4 minutes download time. I think Flash downloads funny sometimes. I'm not expert enough with Flash (I'm using Swish, not Macromedia) to do a load progress indication bar. Gotta learn that, it helps the patience of the end-user.

We can't single-handedly save the world, at least not any time soon. We have to pick our battles, and deal with tyrants one by one (unless we are drawn directly into a larger war). This business of a global "revolution" is Hitchensian; it's far to utopian for most FReepers.
Our best bet is to move slowly, and carefully, and morally--to avoid the mistakes of past foreign policy. As long as we remain the strongest, richest, most advanced country on Earth, people will respect us. Our values will continue to spread.
But don't think our values will reign supreme over all humanity any time soon. I suggest you read The Clash of Civilizations and the Remaking of World Order by Samuel Huntington. Other people aren't about to completely give up their cultures any time soon.
We will succeed in Iraq because the culture of the government in that countries is so horrible right now, but our values will not spread so readily elsewhere. We need to move slowly, and intervene where it will make us long-term friends (like the Albanians, and now the Iraqis).

I tried a second time after I posted my comments about the (lack of) speed.
I'm on SBC DSL. I get downloads blazing fast, but your flash video just hung, and hung, and hung.
I will try tomorrow. If I get different results I will post here.
I would like to see it. I love patriotism.

link to actual flash that people could do a "rightclick/save-target-as" to their hard drive, then play at leisure
