Clara Harris did not INVOLVE Lindsay in the running over of David Harris -- Lindsay was the primary mover and shaker in the spying and following of David Harris -- but you didn't hear that in the trail. Clara just sucked it up and took all of the blame.
For example, Lindsay as you may know was spending the summer in Clear Lake City (working in her Dad's dental office) and she became aware on her own of her Dad's affair with Ms. Bridges. Lindsay had done her own "investigative work" to prove to herself that the receptionist Gayle Bridges was her Dad's mistress. Lindsay (even before Clara Harris knew) had confided in her grandfather (David Harris's father) about David's affair.
So, when Clara told Lindsay, Lindsay told her she already knew, that EVERYBODY knew. At that moment, Clara and Lindsay became fixed on trying to break up the affair.
The day of the killing, Lindsay was the person behind the wheel, driving the Mercedes around, looking for David and his mistress. Clara was too upset to drive safely. Lindsay had to point out to Clara which automobile in the parking lot was Gayle Bridges -- because Lindsay had already spied on her Dad and knew Gayle's car. Clara didn't EVEN know what kind of car Gayle drove. Lindsay had to show Clara which car....
And in the Hotel lobby, Lindsay was seen and heard saying "I hate you, I hate you" and hitting her Dad with her purse -- when he and his mistress got off of the elevator.
And after Clara had attacked Gayle and had to be separated from her -- a hotel employee "put Clara under the wheel" of her Mercedes -- and set the wheels in motion whereby Clara was trying to hit the Navigator and Gayle and David; everyone but David got out of the way. They had time to get out of the way -- but David was a control freak and thought he had control of Clara and DIDN'T THINK CLARA WOULD HIT HIM with the car. But Clara was out of control and couldn't stop the forward motion of the car and David was killed.
So, flame away at me if you want to. I think Clara in a way sacraficed herself rather than bring more pain to Lindsay.
Personally, I wish Clara didn't have to spend anytime in prison. She was truly insane and had no control over actions. Her husband drove her to madness.
I understand that she would not let her lawyer drag David through the mud either. The woman was crazy about David. That's a fact. Just too many people have said that.
As far as David's family supporting Clara. I'm not real sure why that's the case except they knew the same things that other people knew about David. Maybe it was because David's dad was personally familiar with "other women" in his own younger days? And got "religion" afterwards.
Clara Harris lost her mind for a few minutes. She did not set out that night to kill her husband. But she did and for that she will pay. Along with her children and others.
Next, watch for David's ex-wife to sue the detective agency along with Gail Bridges and anyone else they can think of.
