New HIV infections leaped by an unprecedented 44 percent in Palm Beach County, 30 percent in Broward County and 18 percent in Miami-Dade County last year, as South Florida's struggle with AIDS intensified.
...
Health officials on Wednesday attributed the jump to a growing cavalier attitude toward unprotected sex. Some said they were perplexed about why the safe-sex message was not getting out.
...
The virus is rising fastest among young gay men who may wrongly think new medications have brought AIDS under control and among black young adults who are spreading it through unprotected heterosexual sex, officials said. Since 1997, 55 percent of new HIV infections in Florida were among black people.

Note to White House: Throwing billions of dollars at Africa to buy free drugs will only make the problem worse. The strategy may buy you an expensive slice of the numbskull vote, but that's it.

...black young adults who are spreading it through unprotected heterosexual sex...
Translation: Bisexual black men are spreading the disease to heterosexual women.

Agreed, instead of giving drugs that WON'T CURE THE DISEASE to people already infected why not throw all that money at finding a cure?
Politics, politics, politics.

This area was one of the first big breakouts in BelleGlade.
I still get angry every time I think about a 24 year old virgin friend that gave it up to a boyfriend after a couple months only to learn afterward he had herpes, he knew, she got it. Something needs to be done to prevent the purposeful spreading of sexual diseases. It happens far more than acknowledged.

I'm tired of the homosoexual 'community' asserting that private behavior is none of the voters' business. These same homosexuals, when they contract HIV through their deviancy will demand that taxpayers pay to treat the maladies and pay for the research to try and cure HIV. That pretty much destroys the specious notion that the deviant behavior is none of the voters' business.
Purposeful spreading of deadly diseases ought to be punishable with trial and imprisonment, as attempted murder. Because of PC gone wild in the 1980's and 90's, the proven efforts by homosexuals to spread their primarily homosexual disease to the general population went un-challenged in courts, as the homosexuals attempted murder to forward their desire for taxpayer funded research and treatments. Deviant people think with a deviant mind.

So it's attitude that causes HIV?? All this time we thought it was sexual contact and lack of US funding.
