Greenpeace sends "inspectors" to US embassy in Oslo
OSLO (AFP) Feb 12, 2003 International environmental group Greenpeace on Wednesday sent "inspectors" to the US embassy in Oslo to "carry out weapons inspections", it said. "The inspection is taking place because of the United States' incompetence when it comes to respecting United Nations treaties on reducing the number of weapons of mass destruction," Greenpeace said in a statement.
"The inspectors are asking the embassy to show a real spirit of cooperation," it said.
Joined by telephone by AFP, one of the initiators of the action, Carl Johansen, later said the embassy had refused to meet with the seven activists.
Similar actions have recently taken place in Spain and Hong Kong, he said.
Greenpeace has criticized the United States for possessing "large reserves of weapons of mass destruction", "continually" infringing on non-proliferation agreements, threatening to deploy nuclear arms and withdrawing from the US-Russian Anti-Ballistic Missile Treaty.
"We need to see international accords respected, and not wars started against countries suspected of possessing weapons of mass destruction," another activist, Truls Gulowsen, said in reference to the looming US-led war on Iraq.

Evry time the greenies show up on the high seas they should be treated as the terriorists they are blown out of the water.
There does that say it for you?

If any of these idiots are US citizens they should be deported and banished. Let them live out their pathetic lives on their stupid little green tugboat.
