Another letter from my FL friend...He's angry...
February 10, 2003
Mr. Wolfgang Ischinger German Embassy 4645 Reservoir Road, NW Washington, DC 20007-19987
Dear Mr. Ambassador:
I am sending this letter to add my voice to the growing chorus of voices protesting Germanys selfish, ego-centric stand on the upcoming war with Iraq.
I am old enough to know that were it not for the benevolence of US, Germany would today be a province of the (old) Soviet Union. Our heroic airlift kept West Berlin free from Soviet incursion and maintained a free Germany until it could be reunited with its Soviet half through the efforts of Ronald Reagan, a US President.
I, like many Americans, know that approximately one-half of the companies cited for illegal trading with Iraq during their UN imposed sanctions were German companies. We understand that your country is all about making a deutsche mark at any cost Allies, NATO, alleged friends be Damned!
Like you did in WWI and WWII you are again gravely under-estimating the sense of right-VS-wrong and the will of the American people. You, France and somewhat irrelevantly Belgium have cast your lots together against, not only US, but Turkey, your NATO ally. You are giving us every reason to distrust your friendship and intentions.
If the center of Berlin had been bombed on September 11th instead of our Twin Towers, we Americans, as a nation, would have rallied to your cause. The only questions would have been, What do you need? How can we help?
What has happened to you as a nation? Take your Iron Crosses out of wherever they are hidden. Act like the Teutonic/Germanic tribes of your ancestors. Fight for a righteous cause.
You have decided to cast your lot with the wimpy French. France the country you twice defeated and we in turn defeated you. If not for us, today you would have a free villa on the French Riviera and an apartment on the Left Bank.
We Americans do not care about your aspirations to lead the new European Order. An Order designed to compete with the economic might of the United States. Dont you know that we thrive on competition? That we will rise to any occasion? We need the challenge to keep us on our toes Go for it!
Today, I am boycotting all products from Germany and I am encouraging through the internet all other Americans to join me in the boycott. This includes wines, automobiles, cameras and anything else that you export to US. I represent 250+ million Americans who are going to express our displeasure with your current government and policies by voting with our dollars by NOT purchasing German made products. This is a vote that I know you will understand.
Sincerely,
Then once Russia comes around, we should invite them to join NATO and let the nazis and their Vichy collaborators wither on the vine.
