How did anybody know he stopped to "ask for directions"?
I know you feel he did no wrong, but the story sounds suspicious as it is being presented here.

The story sounds suspicious because that's the way it's being reported. The Fresno Bee and the TV coverage is twisted to make it look like the only reason they didn't prosecute was because of insufficient evidence, not because Steve was innocent. I GIVE UP! The powers that be (media and Republican leaders) are not going to admit they were wrong about this witch hunt. Their lust for vengeance will not be satisfied until Steve is utterly destroyed. My only hope is that the average good people of the district will see through all the corruption and crap and realize that Steve Samuelian has been the victim of the most outrageous witch hunt OVER NOTHING! Sheeeesh.

Because he said so! Not that there's anything wrong with Steve driving around a known hooker hangout late at night on the pre-text he's looking for the Farm Bureau office to drop off flyers, or that he was caught in the same locale back in 1998, trolling for ...votes...
Saundra's daughter in law works for this guy, so she has a vested interest in trying to expunge the record of his rotten peccadillos. The issue is less his hooker trolling, twice, than the terrible Central valley Pubbies who have had enough of this albatross, at least according to pom-pom girl Saundra. It's the Marion Barry defense come to California.
