Something must have happened...does anyone know the details?

I'll tell you what happened - NOTHING! The story got a life of its own after the rumor mill got going. Yesterday, it was that Channel 47 had found Steve Samuelian's pimp! Today's there's a story about how some pranksters from a radio station delivered one of those obscene blow-up dolls to the District Office. Will it ever end? Meanwhile, Steve wants to get back to work without all these distractions. I think he's gonna have to start suing people to shut them up.

It's amazing that it has to come to that. However, I'd start with the radio station pranksters. Some litigation could do them good. These days these liberal disk-jocks seem to be trying to stretch the envelope just a little farther with every stunt. A call from the FCC might get 'em to pipe down.

FINALLY - The DA's office is supposed to make some kind of announcement today about whether or not to charge Samuelian with "loitering". Is this America?! There was no citation on that fateful night but two weeks later after all the political shenanigans, they might charge him with loitering. I don't get this at all unless it's all about a witch hunt and GOP dirty politics. Nothing else makes sense. For victory & freedom!!!

For victory and freedom!!! Hallelujah!! Sounds like a Witch Hunt of the most despicable sort. Considering all that is going on in the world all conservatives and free thinking Americans need to stick together, not in-fight. However, that notion of free-thinking Americans may be the root of the problem. Kudos. Keep me updated and advise if there's anything I can do.

News flash - Steve Samuelian vindicated, on TV no less. The DA decided not to file charges. Duh! Since when is it a crime to drive down a street and stop at a gas station to ask for directions?! I am still seething, however, and waiting for the "gang of five" high-powered Republicans who called for Steve to resign to APOLOGIZE!!!!!!! All this crap for nothing. Steve deserves an apology from so many people. The list is endless.

Heard from der Manouel who says he will NOT be apologizing. Figures. Now we'll see how the others react. I predict a backlash against the "gang of five" who persecuted Steve, leading the witch hunt. Sheeesh! Republicans!!!!!!!!!!

He's already got a high powered attorney and LET THE GAMES BEGIN. If I were Steve Samuelian, I'd have myself a field day suing the pants off of all the witch hunt perpetrators. Go, Steve, go!!! For victory & freedom!!!

I would like to have an apology from you for your post #8. Today the DA had a press conference and they will not be charging Steve Samuelian with ANYTHING! It was all a political witch hunt. Apology, please, for jumping to conclusions and for thinking the worst of a fellow Republican and for believing the media lies and for thinking it's okay for high level Republicans to shoot from the hip at an innocent man. I'm waiting . . .For victory & freedom!!!

How did anybody know he stopped to "ask for directions"?

I know you feel he did no wrong, but the story sounds suspicious as it is being presented here.

The story sounds suspicious because that's the way it's being reported. The Fresno Bee and the TV coverage is twisted to make it look like the only reason they didn't prosecute was because of insufficient evidence, not because Steve was innocent. I GIVE UP! The powers that be (media and Republican leaders) are not going to admit they were wrong about this witch hunt. Their lust for vengeance will not be satisfied until Steve is utterly destroyed. My only hope is that the average good people of the district will see through all the corruption and crap and realize that Steve Samuelian has been the victim of the most outrageous witch hunt OVER NOTHING! Sheeeesh.

I'm waiting to hear the apologies.

There has yet to be one single apology from the cannibalistic Republicans. In fact, they went so far as to have these secret meetings to pick a guy to run against Steve Samuelian in the up-coming primary. Can you imagine it?!! On the bright side, we, the grass roots troops, have circled the wagons around our Assemblyman and we will FIGHT WITH ALL OUR MIGHT TO SEE THAT HE IS RE-ELECTED. Meanwhile, leader of the Assembly Republican Caucus, Dave Cox, issued a bold statement in support of Steve. The pro gun folks are really pissed and have voiced strong support for Steve. I heard that the Chair of the CA Republican Party chewed out our Central Committee Chair (Jane Parsons) and everybody is so pissed with her, I don't see how she can survive in her position. Good riddance!! Steve is looking good for re-election. Yahoo!! (But don't expect an apology. The vultures would rather trample the Republican Party beneath their feet than to admit they were wrong.) Just a quick update. Thanks.

ANOTHER MAJOR ENDORSEMENT FOR SAMUELIAN

National Rifle Association Latest to Join Long List of Samuelian Supporters

(Sacramento, CA) - The National Rifle Association (NRA) today
announced its endorsement of Assemblyman Steve Samuelian in his re-election
campaign. The NRA endorsement is crucial to success in Republican primary
elections all across California, and this major boost to the Samuelian
campaign is further evidence that Samuelian is dominating the 29th Assembly
District contest. Despite numerous attempts by Samuelian's challenger
opponents to gain the NRA's support, the organization chose to strongly
support Samuelian.

"Assemblyman Steve Samuelian has helped lead the fight in the State
Assembly for the Second Amendment and the rights of gun owners, hunters and
sportsmen. We are proud to endorse Steve's re-election and will be very
involved in his campaign," said Ed Worley, California Liaison for the
National Rifle Association.

Samuelian strategist Chris Wysocki said, "This level of early
support from so many major groups shows extremely formidable force. Steve
Samuelian has endorsements rolling in every day from Republican leaders to
important organizations like the NRA. Today's endorsement carries with it
thousands of votes in the overwhelmingly conservative 29th Assembly
District." Wysocki continued, "Running in a Republican Primary without the
support of the NRA in this district is a tremendously difficult position to
be in. Because Samuelian has the whole hearted support of the NRA, it will
be very tough for anyone to challenge Steve's candidacy."

The NRA endorsement adds to a long list of recent endorsements for
Samuelian, including Assembly Republican Leader Dave Cox, Assembly
Republican Caucus Chairman Tony Strickland, Assemblyman Ray Haynes, the
Fresno Republican Assembly, the National Tax Limitation Committee PAC,
Republican National Committeewoman Barbara Alby, and many others.

Steve Samuelian was first elected in 2002, where he defeated his
Primary opponent by over 13 points and rode to a landslide victory in the
General Election. For more information, please visit

Because he said so! Not that there's anything wrong with Steve driving around a known hooker hangout late at night on the pre-text he's looking for the Farm Bureau office to drop off flyers, or that he was caught in the same locale back in 1998, trolling for ...votes...

Saundra's daughter in law works for this guy, so she has a vested interest in trying to expunge the record of his rotten peccadillos. The issue is less his hooker trolling, twice, than the terrible Central valley Pubbies who have had enough of this albatross, at least according to pom-pom girl Saundra. It's the Marion Barry defense come to California.
