Mitzna: in my opinion no missiles will be fired at Israel
By THE JERUSALEM POST INTERNET STAFF
Labor party head Amram Mitzna said that according to his reading of the situation, no missiles would be fired at Israel during a possible US-led strike on Iraq.
Mitzna was talking on Channel One's 'Politika' program.
Mitzna added that that the chances of Israel coming under missile attack was slim, but that he still advises Israel to prepare for the possibility.

Wishful thinking.

I agree, when we start in on Iraq I believe that all hell is going to break loose on Israel.

I think Mitzna is full of crapola. Saddam sees himself as The 'Sword of Islam", and wants to go down in Islamic history as the one who destroyed Israel.
Of course, he is a flaming leftist. He lives in denial.

Iraq doesn't have that many SCUDs left. We know the approximate regions they need to launch from to hit Israel. We have forces on the ground locating systems, where possible. These locations are or will be relayed to aircraft with the sole job of killing SCUDs. We also have upgraded Patriot systems (actually designed to kill missiles, unlike the ones during Desert Storm) protecting Israel.
Does that mean not one SCUD will hit Israel? Not likely. But I do understand this man's apparent optimism. If I were in Israel, I'd be much more worried about terrorists than SCUD missiles.

Artillery Shells, rifles, shoulder fired missiles & suicide bombers can do quite a bit of damage as well. As you read my earlier post you will see that I just said all hell's going to break loose not necessarily Scuds being fired and unfortunately for the Israeli's I think its a reality.

Scuds from Iraq are only one problem. As soon as America attacks Iraq, Hamas will attack with barrages of artillery, rockets, and possibly even some missiles from the Bakaa valley.
There will be coordinated attacks from the north, as well as the west bank and gaza. My biggest fear is that terrorists have pre-positioned chem or bio weapons in Israeli cities, like Tel Aviv and Haifa. Possibly even Jerusalem, but I would tend to doubt that one.

If Isreal gets hit with one scud, Bagdad will cease to exist.

Mitzna is the head of the LAbour party. He came from its left-wing, opposing any coaltion.
Thanks to this surrender-now leftist, LAbour went from 30 seats to 19 in the Knesset.

One word to describe what you are talking about. HAMAS.

Gosh are the leftists the world over the same? I guess so. Deny that evil lurks in the world until it is too late, then to cover his begging for someone to do something, he will probably accuse the IDF of being unnecessary brutal on the terrorists when it is over.
You just know it will happen. How can anyone vote for these types? I am just waiting to see the media peices on our brutality abd war crimes in Iraq after it is all said and done there.

Leftists should be defeated, not debated.

That's the thing, it won't just be Iraq. It'll be Lebanon, Syria and maybe even Palestinians.
