Lets see today Washington announced that the threat of terrorism is 100%
Washington further stated that the citizens of the USA are on your own and responsible for your own survival plan
They urged us to store food , water, etc
No mention of cash or weapons needed....
Also even though Hospitals, Malls, Schools are targets...just go on with your normal lives...
They refuse to tell us to get cash and arm ourselves...and go out in public armed...
Somebody ought to get their shitte together soon

I would like your take on the NRA's refusal to support the Massey self defense amendment.

Who the heck is still sending money to the NRA? Might as well donate to the Brady Bunch -- at the rate things are going at the NRA, those two groups should be merging any month now. It's way past time to drop this pathetic duck-hunting club off the list of pro-2A organizations.

Great report. Thank you and good luck GA gunners!

"A dejected Mary Margararet Oliver summed up a bad day for anti-gunners with a protest: "Mr. Chairman, the Massey amendment means we won't be able to prosecute ANYBODY for having an unlocked gun."
That's the whole idea you retarded twit. What good is a locked gun in an emergency??
Should non-Georgia residents call in on this??

I'll give you mine. Them sons a bitches over their at NRA Headquarters want legislation passed like that, so they can fill my feaking mailbox with more of the "Sky is falling" propaganda, always rounded off with a plea for deperately needed funds to fight this.
I'll guarentee this Legislation will be printed somewhere in their Propaganda to garnish more donations.
In the meantime the build a multimillion dollar HQ, Overpay their Execs. and allow their buddies to cash in on their NRA Ties with contracts, etc.
LaPeirre can go shag a goat!

I don't get my news of the NRA from the GOA.

Should non-Georgia residents call in on this??In all honesty, probably not unless you have a friend in GA whose address and phone number you can use as contact info.

I don't get my news of the NRA from the GOA. You think they're lying?

Oh, gee. You don't think the GOA is trying to put themselves in a better light than the NRA?
I'll start paying attention to the GOA when they can tell me what they do instead of worrying about the NRA.
Fact: The official stance of the NRA is they are against mandatory safety systems whether it's safes or trigger locks.

The phrase "cheese eating surrender monkeys" comes to mind. I wonder what sort of fromage the cafeteria at the NRA headquarters serves?

How does that reconcile with the fact that they have "no position" on proposed legislation requiring people to keep their guns locked up? What they say in their propaganda materials to members and prospective members matters a good deal less than what they say (or fail to say) in courts and legislatures.

The GOA lying? It wouldn't be the first time. Here's Alan Gottlieb's fron the Citizen's Committee letter back to Larry Pratt after the same tactic was used:
http://www.saf.org/Prattresponse.htm
Looks like Larry Pratt doesn't know how to play well with others.

You don't think the GOA is trying to put themselves in a better light than the NRA? Of course they are. And quite successfully too.
I'll start paying attention to the GOA when they can tell me what they do instead of worrying about the NRA.
I guess you missed the action item list at the bottom of the alert huh? I guess you missed the fact that this e-mail alert came from CSG (GOA affiliate).
The official stance of the NRA is they are against mandatory safety systems whether it's safes or trigger locks.
Then it's time they started practicing what they preach. The thing that turned me against the NRA was they said one thing officially to their members and turned around and did something quite different when it comes to legislate stuff. Still doing it near as I can tell.
You don't want to admit it, but I guarantee if the NRA had said that they would support the Massey amendment and were against HB197 it would have helped kill this mess. I suspect that the fix is in, and the NRA is going to sit this one out. Of course if it's defeated they'll be there to take the credit with their members.

Like I told you. I don't get my NRA news from the GOA. If you want to quit the NRA, quit. If you don't want to join, don't.
If every single member of the NRA would quit, I couldn't care less. Just take up the fight after they're gone and quit whining like little children when things don't go your way.
To: Shooter 2.5
The GOA lying?First this isn't GOA, it's an affiliate, CSG. Second, I don't think that they're lying in this instance, although it wouldn't surprise me to catch any of them lying.
Either way it's bad for pro gun forces.
If CSG is lying not only are they misinforming me and everyone on their alert list, but the're taking a heck of a chance that it will get out since there were a number of people at the hearing, and I talked to a couple of them last night and they essentially confirmed what was said
If they're not lying then it does show the NRA is a bad light; pulling their usual Neville Chamberlian move.

If you read through the responses to that letter, it appears that the NRA also opposed the bills in question.
