Situation bad but not all hopeless.

The media - newspapers and broadcasters - are largely a lost cause: far too many socialistic (read: Marxist) journalists.

However, I see some stirrings of ordinary Germans waking up to the insane policies of their government.

Message boards on yahoo.de used to be heavily skewed to leftist, post-modern, multiculturalist, Green, marxist, anti-Jewish, anti-American posters.

Since last year, more and more decent middle-of-the-road and conservative Germans coming on line. We may be seeing the beginning of a "take back our country" movement.

There is yet hope.

After this 10,000 person march I was a bit depressed about lack of German support for US. It seemed not too different from the leftists that already hate Bush here in the US, except here they represent not more than 20% of Americans. To think that these lunatics actually are running your country is sad to say the least.

Well, the taxi driver who picked me up to take me to the airport asked me about my opinions on Iraq war. I was a bit concerned about someone dumping on USA, but I gave him my best shot. That US didnt want war but we were doing it to disarm Iraq and either Iraq has to comply with UN, or the US would make it happen, that Saddam posed a threat.

Then he told me how the iraqi people "I am 1000% sure they will be happy when Saddam is gone". He went on about how they cannot tell what they think and even the ones with guns wont fight and that he hoped Bush will make the attack and kick out Saddam. He talked about how many Germans dont understand how bad these dictators can be.

This from a taxi driver in Munich, originally from North Africa! It gave me some comfort indeed that not all Germans, and probably not all Arabs either, are deluded by pacifism, appeasement or leftism.

Hopefully, decent Germans can rescue your country and your media from being hostage to bad ideologies.
