I would agree that addictions in our society require our continued vigilance and resistence because of the damage that it does, but I stand by my original assertion More addiction isn't a good thing.

What I find bafling is Why are you basing your argument, that you want more addictions, on the foundation of removing addictions from society by banning alcohol ?

It would seem to me that your being a selective prohibitionist, don't you ?

That is not my argument.

I was pointing out the logical consequences of YOUR argument; that's why I said, "THEN [i.e., it follows from what you say that] we should ban alcohol".

You appear to base your argument on a premise that by decriminalizing this bad vegatable there will be an increase in pot addiction? If I read you correctly, what is the current rate of pot addiction? And because pot is easy to obtain why would any legal status change affect usage?
