>>>...users and abusers

Isn't it wierd how both computer dealers and drug dealers both refer to their customers as users?

My bad.

Wyoming State Motto "Equal Rights"
In Wyoming when most people hear someone say they want to legalize dope, they turn them off and do not listen to anything else they may have to say. They just consider they must be smoking dope.
How ironic. "Practice what you preach" comes to mind.

If I purchased the components to build a computer separately myself I'd never even see a "computer dealer", much less be a customer of one. It would be a real bastard.
So much for your analogy. Self sufficiency RULES!

I understand where you are coming from, but you also have to keep in mind we are talking about pot. Pot doesn't ruin marriages or cause financial ruin or kill people--unlike cocaine, or heroin, or alcohol. Potheads aren't like the people you see on "Reefer Madness", and pot isn't like alcohol at all--trust me. Being drunk and being stoned are two very, very different things. A stoned person can still function at a normal level, especially if they have been smoking for awhile. I wouldn't recommend operating heavy machinery while stoned, but I wouldn't recommend that after taking Nyquil, either. Stoned people don't slur their speech, have poor motor coordination, or impaired judgement like drunk people do.

Bottom line is, if cigarettes and alcohol are legal--both of which are more dangerous and MUCH MORE ADDICTIVE, then pot should be legal too. Pot does not produce a physical dependency. If a person stops smoking pot, they will be a little moody for a few days. The addiction with pot is a mental one. If an alcoholic stops drinking, they need treatment and in some cases hospitalization and drugs. Kicking cigarette smoking the same (with the exception of hospitalization). So it isn't really fair to demonize pot or lump it in with other legitimate drugs like coke, heroin, crack, or acid.

Let's not forget prescription drugs, which are legal and are far more dangerous and addictive than pot, and are just as easy to get on the street. People have held up drugstores with weapons in order to get Oxy's--have you ever heard of someone pulling a gun in order to get a joint? Has anyone ever OD'd on pot?

These are things we have to consider.

I think I'll ignore you as you seem ignorant, even to your State's motto.
The Great Seal of Wyoming
Wyoming bears the honorable distinction of being at the forefront of states advocating equal rights for men and women, well before the turn of the century.
The Great Seal
The draped figure in the center holds a staff from which flows a banner bearing the words, "Equal Rights," and symbolizes the political status women have always enjoyed in Wyoming.
Equal rights symbolizing political status.
Some have less "political status" than others, even today.

Yeah, so many wanted to see...

Bread and circuses for the mob!

So we have, in essence, defacto legalization, right?

No more legal than serious traffic offenses. Actually it was a misdemeanor, which is fine by me, so long as they don't throw someone in the slammer for having one joint. Counselling should be mandatory, too. Repeat offenses should carry greater punishment.

Michael Dell is a punk t.u. drop-out.

Sure he's got lots o' coin and a real purdy wife, but he's still a drop-out; a drop-out from a hippy lovin', granola eatin', tree huggin', tea sip drinkin' pu-niversity.

The Dell dude sucks; Dell computers suck; burn orange sucks.

Go Big Blue!

That's my soap box rant... please drive through.

Where did you come by the information you quoted? I'd like to see that for myself.

No. No more than drunk driving is legal. Big difference.
