Unexcused leave? We used call it being AWOL, 29 days later it is called desertion.

And in the 60's (USMC) is was "he's gone over the hill....."'UA'" (Unauthorized Absence)

I was just gonna say that. "Unexcused Leave", is that like "Undocumented Worker"? I was reading a book on the "Old Army" a few weeks ago and found out that if you went AWOL they wouldn't even bother looking for you. After a few months they dropped you from the rolls figuring that if you didn't care enough to return they didn't want you. A TRUE volunteer army.
