Bush to Speak from Greenbriar, WV Resort (Home of Cold War Bunker) @ 11AM
Fox News Channel | 2/9/2003 | Fox News Channel

Posted on 02/09/2003 7:18:13 AM PST by jriemer

Fox News Channel announced that President Bush will be speaking from the Greenbriar, WV resort at 11AM. They will be carrying his speech live.

This resort is noteworthy because back during the Cold War, a large subterranian bunker was under the resort to protect members of Congress from a nuclear attack.

Blix sounds like an Iraqi press secretary.

You got that right. What a dog and pony show. This is sickening...they say they are seeing a change of heart in Iraq...

The comb-over is gone---don't ever think that mockery from FR is for naught. Elbaradei has had the locks shorn. (I thought I noticed that in a clip from yesterday--and now he's on, and sure enough--snip-snip)

LOL

I'm a young retiree and was half kidding. Don't you wish we could do just what I jestingly recommended? Understand we can't, but it doesn't stop me from wishing we could/would.

You know what? This is so ticking me off, I wish President Bush would pull our troops home - post them along the borders - announce all borders are closed - all foreign aid is cut - start building missile shield immediately - let them all sink in their own mud.

Great plan!

BTW, although much of our industry is globalized, not all of it is, and certainly not all of our major corporations. I worked as an analyst for the largest commercial investment firm in the country and there's no stretch of the imagination that could say we were globalized. We are smart enough that if we wished to change the course of globalization, we could do it - slowly. Given the current status of geopolitics, it might not be a bad idea.

I can't believe this!!!!!!! Blix says he is going by the resolution of 1999, not the new 1441! What a joke this is!

"This is sickening...they say they are seeing a change of heart in Iraq."

Change of heart my a--!! The U.N. is not only irrelevant, it is beyond the pale! According to 1441, Iraq should be bringing out all their weapons so the inspectors can watch them being destroyed and document it! The U. N. is treating their own resolution a-- backwards! Enough already!!!

before they cut back to the press Conference, Spain’s Ambassador to the UN is on Fox, saying a 'change of heart' isn’t enough...

What's really sick about all this is that they are imposing a far higher threshold of proof on the US that Saddam still has weapons than they are on Saddam that he doesn't, even after we pretty much conclusively demonstrated his systematic disception.

Get us out of the UN, once and for all.

Greenbriar..also has its own stop on the Cardinal (the old C&0 line from Newport News Va. to Chicago).

The train now leaves Charlottesville and goes through the tunnel under the crest of the Blue Ridge. It follows the Greenbriar river gorge on its way to Cincinatti.

You can get off the train at the Greenbriar.

-----
The Greenbriar's theme is 'wbite painted brick' (whereas the rival Homestead resort in Virginia is red painted brick. If any construction or additions are made at the Greenbriar, the red brick is painted white immediately - before dawn, if necessary, so red brick is never seen.
