Fox News Channel announced that President Bush will be speaking from the Greenbriar, WV resort at 11AM. They will be carrying his speech live.
This resort is noteworthy because back during the Cold War, a large subterranian bunker was under the resort to protect members of Congress from a nuclear attack.

Fox News just said he will be speaking to the "Republican House and Senate Conference" at the Greenbrier. LOL! Oh well, so it looks like it's not anything unexpected then. No suprise really, it's far too early in the month.

Thanks; sounds like a conference per another poster.

The bomb shelter was decommissioned many many years ago, and is literally a tourist attraction these days.
It's even featured on Greebriar's web site.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Secretary of State Colin Powell said Sunday a French and German proposal for additional weapons inspectors would not solve the standoff with Iraq, saying it was now time for the U.N. Security Council to "go into session and find whether or not serious consequences are due at this time."
Speaking on the "Fox News Sunday" program, Powell said he had not been presented with the reported proposal to boost the number of inspectors searching for weapons of mass destruction programs but that it was past time for such action. Iraq's leader Saddam Hussein has not complied with U.N. resolution 1441 passed in November that required Iraq to disarm or face "serious consequences," he said.

Apparantly a speech to Republican leaders. I find it more interesting that this was the place built during the cold war for congress to live in its underground bunker system.I think its symbolic, and I also think it may be an important speech in that this may not have been a scheduled speech.Powell is on like three of the Sunday news show.Obviously the administration is on a major blitz.I don't know about you, but I think its about time for this.

Thanks for the link, TLBSHOW. As you can see, we're all on edge but I expect we won't start anything until after Blix makes his final report to the UN on the 14th.

Have you seen this speech announced on the other cable news networks or the big three?
I would think at this point in time, that the media would have camera crews following the movements of the President and Ari Fleischer as close as permitted. The President or his Press Secretary could make significant news at the drop of a hat in these dicey times...
But instead most of the media seems to have a serious Colin fixation. [attempted pun]
