Bear Recipe

Many hunters claim bear is nature's forgotten delicacy. The following is a
time-tested and delicious recipe for you to try. With a main ingredient of bear,
successful meals are virtually guaranteed.

Ingredients

3 lbs. bear meat, cubed
salt and pepper
½ tsp. powdered thyme
3-4 tbsp. flour
2-3 tbsp. lard, oil or bacon fat
1 large onion, diced
2 celery tps with leaves
3 carrots, sliced
½ tsp. marjoram
1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
2 cups red wine or enough to cover
1 clove garlic, smashed
1 tsp. Beef boullion powder (or 2 cubes)

Sprinkle bear cubes with salt, pepper, and half the thyme, then coat heavily with flour. In Dutch oven or electric skillet, melt fat and saute the bear cubes on all sides in several batches so the pieces are not crowded, remove cubes that are nice and brown to make way for more. When all the bear is browned, saute onion, green peppers, carrots and celery in the same pan, adding more fat if necessary until onions are barely translucent. Return the bear to the pan, add the rest of the ingredients, then cover and simmer for about 1-1/2 hours. Add water as flour absorbs the liquid from the bear cubes. This may need to be repeated.

.

i don't think this bear will dress out to three pounds... but with the beer he's been drinking, well, we'll see...

Does anyone know the total amount per mussel?

there are people who'll pay a bonus if dware reaches 100,
some if he throws up
some if he doesn't throw up
some if the picture is posted
and some if it's not posted :o)

i would need a pot of coffee to begin to figure it out... maybe chnsmok has a tally...

Fred Mertz asked someone what would happen if dware went nutzoid and ate 1000 mussels. I've decided if that happens, I'll send half my $500 to FR and the other half to his widow.

Yeah, it's cool -- in a simultaneously horrifying and amusing way.

Ok, MO1, I really don't know if I should be part of your downfall, but if Fred Mertz is in the mushy, nauseous soup, I guess I should be in the soup too.

I pledge 20 cents a mussel, which shows I'm just one tenth the Freeper Fred is.

But we all knew that any way.
