Jesus busted for rolling joints with Bible pages

Limestone County authorities busted a “Jesus” Tuesday night for using pages of the Bible to roll marijuana cigarettes.

“He admitted to us that he had been smoking marijuana and using pages out of the Bible to roll it,” said Limestone County Sheriff Mike Blakely. “When we arrested him, he made the comment that ‘I guess God got ya’ll to get me’”.

Jesus Santana, 31, of 26990 Elkins Road, Athens, was one of two Hispanics arrested when authorities raided two county homes for illegal drug activity in western Limestone County.

Santana and Rafael Chavez Pena, 46, of 14741 Chris Way, Athens, were arrested and jailed. Santana is Charged with second-degree possession of marijuana and Pena is charged with first-degree of marijuana. Both men posted bond and released from Limestone County Jail.

Blakely said Santana and Pena were arrested after authorities raided two mobile homes in the Blackburn Trailer Park off Blackburn Road. HE said the raids came after an informant made “ buys” at both homes.

“ There were 15 people in one of the trailers and many of them were children,” Blakely said. “ This is a growing problem we’re running into the Hispanic Community in Limestone County. Many of them don’t speak English and it’s hard to communicate with them. We’re dealing with it the best we can.”

Authorities seized three-quarters of a pound of marijuana from Pena and two small bags of marijuana from Santana.

Aside from tossing around a lot of invective I don't see you making your case. The scripture quoted is amongst the most easily understood in the Bible. Just because you don't like pot users (and neither do I) doesn't mean you can change what is plainly written.

I don't agree the pot laws were intended to dinenfranchise blacks and hispanics. Thats way over the top. Most simple possession charges are not felonys anyway.

Prove it. And don't you go quoting the Bible to me to justify getting high on pot, you addle-brained ninny, unless you also eat poison mushrooms, poison hemlock, cherry stems, castor beans, oleander, etc. Just because it's there doesn't justify eating it, smoking it, or drinking it.

The Bible also plainly points out that we are to stone adulterers to death, so unless you're prepared to go all the way with it, don't go justify pot-smoking by quoting the Bible.
