Any old theory will do, as long as it doesn't involve
changing the tile system. Of course, it is only a mere
coincidence that the debris from the main tank struck the very spot where all the sensors failed.
What is needed now is a good coverup as to why no measures
were taken to examine the impact area.
Sadly, the astronauts were aware of the possibility of tile
failure on the left wing. Imagine their horror as they watched the sensor failures pile up, and then the yaw
rockets firing. Close your eyes.
