This hardly qualifies as the "serious consequences" Paris formally endorsed on Nov. 8, but Mr. de Villepin argued, in effect, that a climb down is preferable to war

France surrendering once again!

The 'craps decided to jump on the train before it left the station.

The Post editorial could have been written by Condolezza Rice.

This, and Joe Biden's statements today, are a strong indication that the 'mainstream' Democrats will be on board.

And regardless of what happens at the UN, we will be in Baghdad in about 5 weeks.

Richard Cohen is on board too. Even Mary McGrory is almost there. We are rolling inevitably to war.

Richard Cohen...surprising.

Mary McGrory ... unbelievable. She is in the Michael Moore camp.

Incidentally, you should read the full Post editorial.
They Really rip into France.

This will leave the 'progressive' wing of the Democratic party as the only opposition.
And it will leave Hillary in an awkward position.

Thanks for that great tapestry of the flying pigs.
I like the goggles, too.

Represents the Democratic leadership 'flying' for cover.
One of them is Biden, I think.

The Post is often marginally more towards 'center' than the N.Y.Times. (is that saying anything?)
Is it because it many thousands of DoD personnel?

They do carry George Will, Krauthammer and Michael Kelly.

From this Wash. Post editorial:
"...the French solution offers no credible path to Iraqi disarmament..."

Agence France-Presse
September 2, 1997

SUTTON-ON-TRENT, England (AFP) - Pigs flew through the air in England Tuesday when a freak tornado crossed a pig farm.

Forty pigs were hurled through the air for over a quarter-of-a-mile as the tornado crashed into a farm at Sutton-on-Trent, near Newark, in central England.

"We looked up and saw these pig-huts swirling around 100 feet (30 meters) up in the air," said witness Allison Reed.

"My son shouted that he could see pigs being hurled around in the air among chimney pots and tiles."

Farmer Michael Hewson said many of his animals had died.
