"We are flabbergasted that a man who supports racial profiling and ethnic scapegoating" chairs the subcommittee, the group's national executive director, John Tateishi, said in a statement Wednesday.

This from a guy who traces his lineage to a country that to this day does not allow its own citizens of Korean lineage to vote or hold government jobs!

Blow it out your ass, Tojo!

I may very well incur the wrath of some around here, but it was entirely reasonable and appropriate for Roosevelt to do what he did. These internment camps were not, despite what you've heard, the equivalent of concentration camps; they fell somewhere between military barracks and your average hotel!

Was it unfortunate that patriotic Americans of Japanese lineage were forced to endure it? Of course. But it was not a crime against humanity.

I'm not normally one to quote fictional characters, but Bruce Willis' character from Under Siege, where he plays a General empowered under martial law to police NY city after a terrorist attack: referring to the Arab terrorists, "You can hide effectively in the Arab-American community. Unfortunately for you, you may only hide there!"

He proceeds to intern Arab American residents.

"Japanese American Citizens League" 8-?

I'm offended that a group of "citizens" find it necessary to form such a league and use it for propaganda purposes. Sounds like a PAC and a liebral one at that. Shades of NAACP.

You're either an American citizen or you're not. I don't go around saying I'm a Bohemian American Citizen. Maybe I should start a league too. Geesh!! Power to the BOHUNKs!!

My opinion only , given with love in my heart for the Constitution but not for those who abuse or fail tom understand the costs required to maintain and preserve it.

Some wars are never over 'til the last participant is planted in terra firma... and even then, there are those who would dig up hatred to continue the fight.

An advocacy group criticized two North Carolina congressional members for comments they made about Arab-Americans, saying the remarks are part of "a very disturbing trend."...what's that rumbling?..look out, it's establishment republicans and conservative pundits - Charles Krauthammer, Peggy Noonan, et al - running for the hills!......
