I think the invasion will occur just after the evening rush-hour. I was talking with a US Marine yesterday about the danger of sniping incidents on US troops by civilians. He said there is likely a contingency plan to surround Baghdad and quarantine the residents. Cut them off from moving into or out of the city for a time, no supplies, etc.
It's anyone's guess, but I think this time the world will see a much different operation than in Desert Storm, where my friend was present.
Much different from Desert Storm. Much different from Afghanistan. Different situations require different strategies, of course.
And all the while, our technology keeps improving.
This is going to be a military operation of such mind-boggling efficiency that it will take the world's collective breath away.
