And what is the most important part of being an actor, Mr. Hoffman? Getting roles to play---as in pretend. Looks like the chips are being called in for actors who want to continue to work and make the big bucks. Interesting to watch the outing of these people.

"For me as an American, the most painful aspect of this is that I believe that that administration has taken the events of 9/11 and has manipulated the grief of the country and I think that's reprehensible," he said. Am I reading too much into this or isn't there an indication here that the events of 9-11, an attack on innocent citizens of our country, wasn't as painful to him as this attempt on our part to eliminate this kind of terror?
To: txradioguy
Jesu.. they want it both ways. When the polls showed most Americans 'against' the war, the weirdos shouted that it wasnt Americas wish, now that the polls show support, they shout that the people are being manipulated.
It's beyond their reasoning that people could actually believe differently from them and still be intelligent and thoughtful people.
morons. this is why I don't even have a TV and won't go to the movies. The country is majority conservative. If we voted with our pocketbooks against these socialists, they'd shut up very quickly.

I've done my time in radio too (15+ years), and I always tell people that DJ's are some of the dumbest souls I've ever encountered. Present company excepted, of course!

No, you were NOT reading too much into it. I'd say it's more like you hit a bullseye.

If it's any consolation, this disease (you know, actors thinking they are somehow especially qualified to comment on political situations) has spread worldwide.
Yesterday, after Powell's speech, Spanish Prime Minister Aznar addressed the Spanish Congress. The Socialists and the left are, naturally, very pro-Iraq, although Aznar is not and has supported the US very strongly, so it was a bitter session. And guess who showed up? Ya got it! Spanish movie actors, wearing their anti-US T-shirts and spewing the same ol'Hollywood insanity (but in Spanish, of course...).

The movie was wag the dog. Notice how hollyweird is not accusing the war as being a distration as the Clinton actions were. We are in a situation where this president is meaning what he says and that upsets the leftists.

And you know, that's what really makes me mad at these weirdo's. I LOVE them as actors, but once I see their anti-American bash Bush stance, I find myself wanting to make a bonfire of my VHS tapes.

Oh great, ANOTHER Hollywood idiot! Just what this country needs. Criminy, can't they keep their mouths shut?
As I have said before, no one gives a damn what some ACTOR thinks about world affairs.
I think one of the most egregious waste of money is the amount that these "stars" are paid. Someone should be whining about the fact that the "star" gets $20 million bucks but the guys behind the camera and the crew and the rest of the little guys only get a pittance. This flagrant misuse of dollars is far worse than anything a CEO gets.
Hey, Dustin...stay in your make believe world and read the lines that are written for you. Leave the real world to the rest of us.

then what prevents Pakistan from attacking India, what prevents India from attacking Pakistan, what prevents us from going into North Korea? Nothing prevents them from doing that and why are you presuming NK isn't going to recieve some "loving attention" from our military when we're done in Iraq? Your flawed, emotional logic would prevent us from moving against anyone for any reason. Therefore you are not a rational voice on this issue. So, in summation I would like to say....STFU!!

Nope... I looked it up... the movie was titled OUTBREAK... and, yes, WAG THE DOG applies to this thread, too... so two good movies to cite as sources.
