Doesn't the experience of the past bloody century make any of these "leaders" think twice about open insults that may encourage German militarism?

Its not encouraging German militarism I worry about, its thoughtlessly assigning potential allies to the enemy camp. Its possible to bully someone into compliance, but not friendship.
