German prosecutors are demanding a 15 year prison sentence for a Moroccan man on trial for involvement in the September 11th terrorist attacks. Mounir El Motassadeq is charged with membership of a terrorist organisation and with being an accessory to the murder of the more than 3,000 people who died in the attacks.
Prosecutors say the 28-year-old student was a member of the al-Qaeda cell in Hamburg. His responsibilities included transferring money from bank accounts to pay for the flying lessons taken by some of the hijackers. Mr El Motassadeq denies the charges. The trial in the German city of Hamburg is the first in connection with the September 11th attacks.

I wonder if this terrorist will get a choice to pick a 5 star hotel/prison?

15 years is an extremely lenient sentence for a terrorist.

15 years for 3,000 dead? 15 YEARS?
Oh, I forgot. That's the Germans for you. Not much concern for thousands of dead, especially it they are not Germans.
Our country ought to protest this. Loudly.

No, it´s one of the highest imprisonment punishments you can get in Germany. The longest is life-long, but life-long doesn´t mean a life in prison, because our highest court has ruled that even life-long prisoners must have a chance to be reintegrated in society again (after 15-20 years). A murderer is back on the streets 15-20 years after his crime.
