Actually, he's right, but you and he can take comfort in the fact that soon tobacco will be just as thoroughly demonized as pot. I need a beer.

I can carry a logical and coherent conversation with somebody smoking a cigarette, where all I get from somebody high on pot is "yeah, dude", "bummer", or "let's get some ice cream".

Ever talk with a drunk? And should it be a crime to be stupid, whether artificially or naturally?

Pick different people to talk to.

When you talk to people drinking do they puke on your lap?

Logical consistancy does not compute with the wodbots, unfortunately. All they'll do is show up here and say, "Canada, blah, blah, blah . . ." or "pot-heads/libertarians, blah, blah blah . . ." Without ever taking the time to describe exactly why MJ is a worse drug, and should therefore be illegal, than those that they not only allow to be legal, but more often than not indulge in themselves.

Forget having to tackle the actual issue, its so much easier for the simple-minded to resort to name-calling, snide remarks, and overall trolling behavior. They don't have to think that way, but in the end, I doubt they can. They should take the short-bus back to wherever it is they came from in the first place.

I lean toward the legalization side myself but Cockburn's argument is pretty asinine and hurts more than helps his/her cause.

There's nothing morally wrong with ruining your brain?

And nobody has ruined their brain or other peoples lives with alcohol
