I heard a liberal jackass the other day on the radio ('inner city minister'-type; probably Jesse Jackson's understudy), who said (re: the Shuttle), well, we had it coming, and 'the Lord works in mysterious ways', and that he feels in the bottom of his heart the God acted in this way, and particularly over Texas, as a 'sign and warning' to Bush not to go to war and kill innocents in Iraq.

Well, two can play by that game and analysis.

The Lord must on the other hand know how cruel and anti-Jewish, anti-Christian and downright evil the ever-satanic Saddam is, & what this modern day HITLER has up his sleeves, so that the poor seven in space were indeed chosen for sacrifice at this exact time in our American history, so as to unite the American people behind President Bush who so naturally and earnestly effected so many with his words yesterday. (Is this not the actual effect it has had? Powell's speech today will do likewise...talk about a movement of the Holy Spirit!).

How could anyone harbor anger at Bush at this time of unity?

I think (as crass as it might seem) that Bush now has a strong emotional support and bonding with the American people due to the Columbia disaster, which will allow him to precisely go in now with even greater support, and 'finish the job' with Iraq so that the late, great Colonel Ramon will be at even greater peace. Just my own thoughts.

It's appalling what these people will say over their political agendas...we're talking about a human tragedy here and it has nothing to do with war strategies, retaliation, etc...But, when they pervert God's goodness with this, then I really get upset...

Yes, but they only say that in regards to something tragic. If you asked them if God's hand was guiding the election, they would say no.

It’s not directly related to the thread topic, but about a month ago I was driving through a severe rainstorm north of San Antonio. On a local station some minister was ranting that the storm was G-d punishing GWB, who was at his ranch at the time, a dark ominous cloud over Crawfordsville (right town?).

Go figure.
