If the tiles are so fragile, why can't they imbed some kind of non-heat-conducting plastic rebar in it?

Weight... most likely would be the reason for not doing that.

Just watching KRON 4, reporting several places where "possible debris" has been reported. NASA teams will be looking at each.

Groveland CA in sierra foothills piece looks like a false lead, more like a piece of styrofoam.

In Santa Cruz on a beach , piece found by visitor from Kansas, they have it under lock and key for now. , says it was a 15 inch long square piece of bent metal (???) dubious claim, but who knows.

By Golden Gate, debris North of Golden Gate.. 4" by 5" pieces, and some honeycomb type metal pieces.
