Ali G flees neo-Nazis after skin-care jibe

Ali G and his film crew have been forced to flee a mob of neo-Nazis while working in the US.

Sacha Baron Cohen was playing a camp Austrian fashion reporter called Bruno when he angered white supremacists at a rally in Georgia.

A cameraman was attacked after the comic wound up one of the mob by admiring the racists' look - and asking if they used moisturiser.

Producer Dan Mazer told the New York Times: "I can't remember what the trigger question was, but all of a sudden the guy we were interviewing exploded.

"He started physically attacking the cameraman and reaching for his gun. We legged it like no one's ever legged it.

"In the meantime, two guys dressed as Arab sheiks got wind of it and started yelling at us. As we're driving away, we see the main Nazi guy chasing us followed by his coterie of Arab sheik Nazis, all shaking their fists. It was like a scene at the end of Scooby-Doo.

"That was our last day in America. By that time we'd taken it to the brink, and I thought: "Enough. I'm going to write sitcoms now"."

Ali G's new six-part show starts on US cable network HBO on February 21, and will be shown on Channel 4 later this spring.

What a horrible human rights violation, just one of thousands which occur in Britain daily. So many of these human rights violations occur in Britain that's its somewhat surprising Tony Blair doesn't prescribe a quick round of
humanitarian bombing during soccer matches.

Is there something in you where you just feel compelled to follow me around and drop posts like this? I realise you hate the British - I am not here to help you with your phobias.

Get over yourself.

Ivan

WHAT are you talking about?
You need a sense of humour transplant.

Hey, what article did you read?
Where do you see anything in this that has anything at all related to BRITISH human rights?
The event described took place in Georgia. Based on the other parts of the article I'd say that was the one in the USA, not the Caucuses.

Ivan, is this guy French?

I had never heard of Ali G until recently when a British friend played some video recordings of his wacky interviewer comedy shtick. He's really quite funny (if you like British humor) - don't know how well it will translate to HBO, though...

He would've gotten more of a reaction by walking into any bar and shouting at the top of his lungs,"Bulldawgs suck". (Our local college football team.)

Thanks for posting this Ivan. I've not heard of Ali and look forward to the HBO special.
