Courtney Love arrested as plane lands

Courtney Love has been arrested as she landed on a transatlantic flight at Heathrow airport.

Virgin Atlantic says Love was "verbally abusive" to cabin crew during the flight from Los Angeles.

Police were called and were waiting for the flight to land.

She was travelling in Virgin's Upper Class cabin when she allegedly became disruptive and the captain called police during the flight, confirms an airline spokeswoman.

Love was on flight VS8, which landed at Heathrow at 11am.

"She was verbally abusive towards our cabin crew and disruptive," a Virgin Atlantic spokeswoman said.

The star has long had a reputation for unpredictable behaviour and is this week pictured naked on the cover of Q Magazine.

She was photographed running down a central London street during the photoshoot, which took place in December. Love, 38, also had a "Brazilian" bikini wax in a room full of people during the shoot and poured a bottle of champagne over her head.

She is thought to have been travelling to London to attend a concert at the Old Vic Theatre Wednesday night.

Spare a thought for the poor switchboard operators at the Four Seasons hotel in Maui, Hawaii, where Courtney Love is staying.

It seems the singer/actress is having sleepless nights worrying about what she's going to wear to Elton John's charity bash at the Old Vic Theatre tomorrow night.

Former Hole star Love has been making calls to fashion houses around the world in a desperate bid to get an outfit for the party.

The star hit the phones to the offices of Dolce & Gabbana, Alexander McQueen and Christian Dior at 2am and didn't stop ringing until dawn. "She wanted clothes sent to her from all over the world," huffed a source. "She was talking at a mile a minute and wouldn't shut up.

"At one point she said: 'Do you understand the clothes have to be perfect? Elton has asked me to sing Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me in front of the f***ing Queen of England."

In another frantic phone call Love, 38, ranted: "Sinead O'Connor will be there. Let her make an idiot of herself. I won't have to worry about that."
