I agree with templar and would also add that we also need parents to be involved with their children's lives and showing some caring and some loving discipline rather than putting their little child on some drug! Of course, we have to realize that overall we live in a lazy society in which children are left on their own much of the time while the parents do their own 'thing' and use drugs to control and turn the children into mindless little robots. It is disgusting. It is a known fact that Ritalin is highly overprescribed and it makes me sick to think of the innocent children who are being placed on it.

My friend's son was put on Ritalink 11 years ago. He was a mess until they took him off. He was just being a 7 year old boy. His mother told me it was the worst decision she ever made, but at the time didn't know better.

It's time parents wake up.
While they are doing a study, they need to find out how many young people in prison were on Ritalin as a child. And for the young people that have murdered as well. I think we would be shocked by the results. I feel so sorry for these little kids being drugged to keep them quite.
Now we find out they have Prozac for kids.

sheesh, Ritalink = Ritalin
Yep, it's easier to manage a 'stepford child'

Yes, ya'll are right. I have heard many stories of parents putting their children on Ritalin on the advice of some moron at their child's school and finding out that it really messed their kid up. Also, that is true about the kids that have committed a lo9t of the crimes we hear about in the schools - most of them were or had been on Ritalin. My advice to parents is to have a trusted and decent Doctor but to also think for themselves about what is best for their children. Having a "Stepford Child" sounds to me just horrible! I believe that good parents know their children better than anyone else does.
