I was going to write today about a housing proposal in the North End for grandparents raising grandchildren. It's a well-intentioned but loopy idea that would in essence create another public housing project - haven't we tried this? - and take the neighborhood's only open space in the process.

Alas, we must interrupt our regularly scheduled programming to announce that this column is ending. C'est la guerre.

I'm sure not sorry to see him go. I too like to believe the Courant is moving more to the right to survive, though I'll believe it when I see it.

So Owl? What's a Pennsylvania Freeper doing reading the Hartford Courant. I have to read it because it's the only game in town. Are you an ex-nutmegger?

I read the story in Romenesco"s Media News. It's a good news source. It's put out by the Poynter Organization which I believe leans hard to the left. But you can pick and choose.
