That is exactly why this article appeared in the ComPost today. Normally, this underhanded attack on Isreal would not have appeared but if it were not intended to be aimed at Bush and our upcoming resumption of hostilities with Iraq. If this wer an election year, the ComPost and their liberal buddies would be feigning support for Isreal once again in order to get Jewish votes.
That being said, I want recognition, and apology, and possibly some money for the survivors adn families of victims if the attack on the Liberty.
Isreal still is our only friend and ally in the mideast and is surrounded by filthy leftist anti-semites on all sides and still faces tyhe saem kind of hatred in Europe.
I'd agree it's a strange time to be bringing it up. Just as a point of fact, Israel did apologize, and paid compensation (distributed by the State Dept), both to the families and for damage to the ship, in the 67-69 time frame.
