I would suggest that the Post is pulling out all the stops in an effort to paralyze the US-Israel relationship in advance of a US-led attack on Iraq.

I can't argue that the timing of the WP's article of a terrible event over 35 years ago doesn't look like more than a coincidence. Of course, it could also be that we're both paranoid tin-foil hatters, but I hope not.:)

Am i supposed to hate israel for something that happened when i was 7 years old ? are my children supposed to because it was done before they were born ?

Im here now and so are my children tehy are seeing who the enemy is for themselves enemys wear many faces they disappear and reappear as quickly as the tide changes

I will keep an eye on my enemys as my children will and their children after them and i pray they learn from the past but i will do the best i can to teach them to live in the now.

Theres lots to learn about lots of different people places and things some good some bad its up to every parent to teach their children what can be their enemy or freind as it stands now israel is americas freind WHY DREDGE UP AN UGLY PAST at a time when enemys are surrounding and encamping about us?

Well, I've seen all the posts removed by the Moderator. I've see the quotes in response. Whenever I hear any reference to the USS Liberty, I know it will be made by a lying scum KKK racist. The Liberty is part of their bible of hate.

I hate it when a place like Free Republic is used by guys like RCW to attempt to justify anti-semitic hatred. Free Republic is my haven from the madness of the liberals, and now RCW gets to post this crap. This really bugs me.
There is really no reason for posting this story over and over.

We all know about the Liberty and I think everyone has heard the former crew members speak about it.

I can understand a huge mistake in the fog of war, what I have a bigger problem with is pulling back allied support for the crippled vessel when those in charge knew, beyond a doubt that it was under attack.

That's what's unforgivable about the Liberty incident, imho.

Not the mistake, it's our response to the mistake.

Heads should have rolled for that.
