Also, I heard Scott say the baby was due Feb 16. You'd think the father would know the correct due date.

I'm not sure what court, I'm not even really sure if permission is necessary. Maybe the client has to be charged with a crime first before it is necessary.

That was being discussed a week or so ago, maybe on FR--LP's estate would be the beneficiary of the life insurance--I don't think SP would collect, but it would go to her family, at least that's what I think was the outcome of this.

A court appointed attorney has to get permission to be taken off a case. That, of course, doesn't apply here.

Amy and Sharon both have said that Laci seemed happy that night and nothing appeared wrong....not sure where this beauty shop rumor is coming from....the cops have the surveillance tapes from the beauty shop so they apparently would be able to tell which story is correct.

For now, I'll believe Amy and Sharon over unnamed sources and rumors.

I think it's always a safe bet to disregard unnamed sources and rumors, as in the salon employee whose post I can't find anymore.

But I do wonder if Amy and Sharon saw just what they wanted to see--who doesn't, in fact?

They did miss the fact that there were obvious problems in Laci's marriage--Amy may not have noticed a thing at the salon that night.

LP's family was sticking up for SP for 2 or 3 weeks after her disappearance, until confronted with the evidence of the girlfriend. If they had no reason to suspect his misbehavior before her disappearance, they weren't picking up on any little things like that before hand.

I hope I got the life insurance information right, there were a couple of people who work in the business who were talking about it--can't remember now who.

Whats up with these Modesto men, someone they know, close to, intimate with comes up missing, and then a short time after a major catasrophe. Maybe all Modesto men should be locked away

LMN..thanks for the info. We'll probably know more about the lawyer thing next week, I hope.

Bell, one of the talk-show lawyers said that if Scott is convicted of murdering his wife, then the Life Insurance will still be paid, but to the WIFE'S next of kin. Sounds fair to me!

Thanks, I knew there were certain circumstances where it was necessary, but they wouldn't apply in case then.

I thought I read it was the girl friend's child whose (2nd) birthday was Feb 10.

This article says it's Amber's birthday but it could be wrong.

Frey, a single mother whose 28th birthday is Feb. 10, went public Friday night

well here is what I have been pondering, if 830 pm is the last time Laci's mom talked to her on the 23rd, than sometime between 830pm -930 am is when SP had done something and rid of evidence, or near the finale of disposing of it. So, I believe he did not have any time to launch a boat to the Marina in Berkely, and the time if that ticket has a date on it, gave him little time to do much, in order to get back to Modesto and call the the in-laws of a missing person, Laci. One other avenue I have ponder is when you break down all possible travel times to and from on these days, the clocked stopped at 548 pm, Dec 24th for SP to have any alibi is, it takes roughly on a normal travel time from Modesto to Tracy I205 and I580 about 30 mins, to get to Castro Valley from Modesto is near 50 mins given at speed limit or near to 70mph, to Oakland is a little over an hour by Hwy 13, Warren FWY.... So, to Berkeley, towards the San Pablo area, would be 1 hour and 45 mins +/-. To get back, it would of been nearly a 3 hour trip. Doesn't leave him much time when he stated he got back to Modesto about 438 pm. (that time was from a beginning story). So, his time to do anything or dispose of the body would be after 830 pm and before 930 am... All the other times becomes very limited and make hasty mistakes, in which so far he hasn't. (or we'd fine Laci)So, if you break down any time from SP's home to any possible places SP is familier with, that is where he could of gone, some like Escalon, Malones, south towards Fresno, etc.... FYI...

I don't beleive R. Blake had a court appt. attorney but I think he had to ask court permission to quit because client has already been formally charged. I may be wrong, don't know if his finaicial situation permitted an appointed attorney.

The whole attorney thing hinges on the "attorney of record" issue. If there is an active court case, civil or criminal, the attorneys are on the record as representing the parties. They have to clear their departure with the courts and "put it on the record" . The appointed ones may have to show some cause.
