The effects of the budget cuts would not be felt for a while after they happen. It is rarely immediate, kinda like the economy. I cringed when I heard of a politician saying they are dedicated to finding out what happend and they will make sure it doesn't happen again. I knew it would happen. Roger that. My brother is alive today because a CAT scan gave doctors crucial information that helped them plan treatment after an auto accident. He had a bad head injury and a shattered leg, and he didn't reach the hospital until looooooonnnggg after the accident (extraction was reaaly tough). CAT was developed to inspect spacecraft parts. The number of important technologies we have today because of space exploration are too great to list.
