Yet, UN officials continually looked the other way. 6,500 bombs containing 1,000 tons of chemical agents, several thousand medium-range guided missiles and large quantities of biological weapons material were missing from Saddam's audited arsenal. Conclusion: War is justified.
Many people in foreign Nations do not support this war and one way to gain their acquiescence is for the UN to represent their point of view in attempting to influence the US. In some ways the UN’s actions help take the edge off the appearance that America is a unilateral power with no concern for any interest but its own. The more the UN mirrors the American position the less credibility and influence it will have.
