"multiple pieses of shuttle would make multiple booms upon reentry." The heaviest, densist, debris is probably the main and straight line heading East to Cape Kennedy. The light debris forms that concave dish-like bloom.
It looks like west central Louisiana will have the bulk of debris... what a sad day...
