***Why Is Fox Keeping Julian Philips On F&F?***
Stardate: 0302.1

Posted on 02/01/2003 5:10:18 AM PST by The Wizard

I have nothing personal against the guy, but he is horrible on this show and has driven everyone I know away from Fox and Friends, and I hate to see the show suffer...

It's not that he's black or appears to be of the Gay persuaion...it's just that he doesn't fit like everyone else....

F&F has had the luck of finding folks who you welcome into your home, and now, for some reason I can't fathom, they are keeping this horrible guy on the show despite emails and posts and continuing complaints...

It's not him, it's him on this show, and he has finally driven me from the weekends, I hope he doesn't destroy the weekday, too

FYI, add my wife the the list of people who can no longer stomach F&F. As for me, I never watch it, preferring to wait until evening for Brit Hume.

Hehe..so it's not cuz he's black or "appears" gay huh ;)

OK..well, I'll tell what won me over a bit to this guy's side. He was interviewing some black radical racist bullsh*t artist and he absolutely burned him to a cinder. And he did it in his matter of fact manner without ever raising his voice.

I thought this was quite professional as opposed to screaming, obnoxious totally unprofessional Shepard Smith.

Just another perspective on the concerns you and your friends seem to be having...but I'll tell you what, when they get rid of Smith we'll make the gay black next.

Since I don't watch F&F, I can't comment. Never seen the guy. What I can say is that I like my news devoid of extraneous and tangential "repartee" of the type that's more like a Tupperware party of than a serious discussion of issues.

He's not as smooth as the others, but the situation is not as bad as you portray it.

I believe I've been seeing him on there for several months, if not a year.

Actually, I like the guy. Sorry Wizard, but he's pretty sharp. Not as funny as what we're used to, but pretty darned smart. He does need to loosen up a bit and have a little more fun, but other than that I think the guy is going to be a good addition to the FOX line up. It's not like F&F Weekend is a final destination for anyone, it's sort of a place for the new talent to get comfortable.

Here is one who feels as you do. He is way overboard. In fact, I have a problem with the '2nd team' on weekends.

I like the guy. But shouldn't you go after Katherine Herridge as well? She's a brunette among a sea of blondes (including Molly Henniburg's platinum do) and see seems to dip lightly into that 55 gallon drum of lip gloss that FoxNews keeps for their female reporters.

Speaking of TV "personalities."

What ever happened to that Imus cast-off Christy Musimeci and Rick "The Reader" Sanchez who used to do the MSNBC News while Imus was on?

They get sent to Guantanamo?

Tupperware Party......exactly the description for most of FNC. We hounded the cable company for years and finally got FNC......now I am wondering what all the fuss was about. Not much there other than fluff and car chases.

Has a bit of a chip on his shoulder. He is too agressive and wants to show everyone how smart he is. There are plenty of excellent black broadcasters, why Fox hired him Ailes me.

He doesn't bother me. It never occurred to me that he might be gay either. Unless he's said or done something to clearly state that he's gay, I don't think that it's fair to label him as such. You could be mistaken. :-)

FWIW. A couple of Sundays ago, Julian's wife was introduced on the air. She is quite attractive and is a professional singer. Evidently she stopped by the studio to pick him up on their way to church. I agree he is not very smooth. About a week ago he was doing a report from outside the UN and totally muffed the report. The mike stayed on after he was finished and you could hear him expressing disgust at his performance.

I like the guy, too, a LOT better than the other male host. That guy makes my teeth hurt.
