I think it's high time we screen these folks again.
I saw an Investigative Report on A&E about how street gangs have infiltrated our military for weapons and combat training. Wonder if these thugs would be involved...pay back for something?
Or maybe just garden-variety Muslim Anti-War Protesters.

My son just left for Boot Camp at Parris Island....the thought that these two low lives may even get a chance to get out of the brig any time soon, makes my skin crawl! Who knows, maybe they will face a little "jail house" justice...

Thanks!
Give these traitors a dose of Versed IV to find out who paid them to do this or ordered them to do it.
Then, put them on a plane with the jumpers, they tried to kill. They get to jump with one of their sabotaged chutes or just do a free fall.

I just read an article that said there were only 3 keys to the locker the chutes were being stored in.

Thanks for your son's decision to join the Marines.
All of us old puddlemakers wish him well in the months ahead. He will be challenged to the utmost, to say the least. But It will be worth it, in the end!

Link Two Marines arrested in parachute sabotage
News & Record
CAMP LEJEUNE (AP) -- Two Marines have been arrested in the suspected sabotage of parachutes last fall and remain in the Camp Lejeune brig, Marine officials said.
Lance Cpl. Antoine D. Boykins, 21, and Lance Cpl. Julian Ramirez, 25, were taken into custody by the Naval Criminal Investigative Service Tuesday night, Staff Sgt. Jay Connolly said. The two had not been charged as of Wednesday, Connolly said.
Both are air delivery specialists with 2nd Transportation Support Battalion, 2nd Force Service Support Group. Their hometowns were not immediately available.
Klain Garage, special agent in charge and senior NCIS supervisor for the Carolinas, would not say why the Marines were arrested.
Three Marines suffered minor injuries Sept. 21 when their main parachutes failed, forcing them to use reserve chutes. They were jumping from a C-17 Globemaster during heavy equipment parachute training at the time.
Jumpmasters canceled the training after the incident.
When they returned to Cherry Point Air Station, they discovered suspension lines on 13 of 25 parachutes had been cut and repacked in such a way as to avoid detection.
The afternoon before the incident, 20 jumpers went through training and their parachutes were stored in a large locker within the Air Delivery Platoon paraloft. There are only three keys to the parachute locker, officials said.
The parachutes were distributed at random, officials said, but it was unclear if they were assigned the night before. Each Marine carried his own parachute the day of the exercise.
NCIS agents confiscated the parachutes at Cherry Point. They said they were nearing completion of their investigation.

Gangs were a major problem when I was in the Marine Corps. Typically, they were sh*tbirds. The gangbangers that I saw in the Marine Corps had extremely poor combat skills. While I was with 5th Marines from 91-92 we had several attempted assassinations of various NCO's perpetrated by gangbangers. One group of bangers missed a sergeant at point blank range with a shotgun.

IIRC, several gangbangers who hadn't been caught were actually used as "pioneers" (read: human mine detectors) in the Gulf War, on the theory that if they found a mine the hard way, it wouldn't be a major loss to the unit...

These guys are in some seriously deep doo-doo if they are found guilty. They will have to serve their entire sentences in solitary confinement to keep from being beat to death. This ain't the kind of thing other Marines are likely to overlook, not even the ones who are criminals. This is purposely trying to randomly kill other Marines. My only hope is that when and if it happens, the Marine(s) who does it gets a "not guilty" judgement at courtmartial. If there were any REAL justice,Force Recon Marines would be allowed to use them for bayonet drills.

Please excuse my ignorance, but are the suspension lines used to connect the parachute to the harness that jumper wears? Therefore, cutting these lines would cause the chute simply to float away after the cord is pulled?
Another point: has anyone seen the old James Cagney movie ?13 Rue Madeline? He plays one of several Allied spies who are parachuting into France. After he and his team leave, the person on the plane discovers that one of the cords was cut.

The gangs have been a problem for a long time. They were in before I was in (1987). They get the training they need in weapons, communications and other tactics (fighting, exploitation, etc...) and go back to the streets. I remember several cases about it when I was in.
