Well, to bring this to a close : I'm delighted to have had such salty advice ! One poster actually called me "lad", which, considering my age, makes him part of the really Old Corps !!

I'm also delighted to see Marines being included in the Special Operating Groups. What these groups do is often poorly understood, and/or under-appreciated ; and, service loyalties aside, require training WELL beyond the old Recon level.
