:NOT happy about children feeling threatened. . .Especially by thuggish men. . . NOT funny"

. . .Prisoner 6 contemplated the contemplative. . .Lazmatazz NOT having children. The focus of your anger should be where all of ours is focused.

OJ is a murderer - he should never have gotten custody of his children. . .and someday, somehow, he will experience Justice.

In the meantime, we can hope his children survive him. . .and do well.

. . .but no need to expand the circle of your wrath. . .and not be a real 'happygrl'. . .

If you'll read the thread, neither Lazamataz or prisoner6 focused at all on OJ, but began the thread by whining about the burdens and problems of marriage and parenthood, in effect making a joke out of the situation described in the article.

I would have delightedly supported any effort by them to identify the real problem here, which is a thuggish father (and a murderer) apparently terrifying his daughter.

Generally I strike a cheerful attitude towards life and others, but men who strike a "woe is me" pose instead of standing up against a thug like OJ (which neither of them did) are the problem, not me.

Where is your post to them calling them on their wussy atitudes ? You'll note that there were some others who did express concern about the outrage of OJ getting custody, and the lack of chivalry on the part of these two posters. THOSE kind of stand up guys make me happy.

" Second, the two gentlemen you have decided to attack are made members of the FR wolfpack, the inner circle, the sanctum sanctorum. That is to say, gentlemen of respect.

So, when you pick on them for no reason, the presumption is that you are a wacko. "

Who are you ? Your comments are about the most laughable I've ever read. I picked on them for the reasons I stated. Apparently you are another man who is threatened by teenage girls or women otherwise you wouldn't be defending them.

If these guys are "made members" of the "wolf Pack", that is more evidence that they are definitely NOT gentlemen of respect .

The above description of them is true because....You say so ?

Secondly, I wasn't aware that Conservatives believe in aristocracy. The only standing people have with me is that evidenced by their charcter. I'm still waiting for either of them to really stand up like "gentlemen" for this young woman.

You really are laughable.

neither Lazamataz or prisoner6 focused at all on OJ

Hmmm...then what's this from my first post?

The Juice is gonna get squeezed good one of these days. Maybe he suspects Sydney of killing Nicole.

And if you could search the archives back to the OJ case I would challange you or anyone to point to even one post where Laz or I defended OJ. Not gonna find it.

Now Laz, well known here for his wit and wry humor made an off the wall remark about not having Kidz and you got jumpin' ugly about it. Hello... did you read my response about the Battle of the Sexes being fertile ground for comedy? (Pun intended) How truely sad the person who can not find humor in the human condition.

Just what is so horrible about a man saying, especially in the context of Laz's comment, he doesn't want to have Kidz? I'd be willing to bet lots of men - and women - say the same thing at one time or another. It's nothing to get your knickers knotted up about.

As I mentioned I have lots of stories and now you've instigated me to post one. A mild one at that.

Several years ago when Number One Son was feeling his oats he decided to push the envelope as far as staying out at night. Normally a great kid, bright student, class president, lots of friends and obedient the hormone soup of adolescence nudged good sense out of the way.

It was midnight Halloween night, and I had just worked a 12 hour shift after a quick turnaround nightshift. Wife as well had put in a full days work as well as taken care of Halloween duties for Daughter and Number Two Son. See, normally Halloween is a special time around this Celtic clan household, although this particular year financial times were tough. We didn't have a car and were barely making it.

Number One Son had gone to a party at a friend's house 5 miles away and was supposed to be home by ten. When he didn't come home Wife called to find out why. He decided he didn't have to come home, informed her he'd get home when he wanted and hung up. She called back and he flipped telling here to NEVER call him there again.

When I got home, around 1 AM because I had to walk the 3 miles from work in pouring rain, Wife was understandably upset. I called NOS and got the same treatment. Well, without a car and no bus service I had only one choice. Tired, cold, hungry, I suited up and walked the 5 miles (rain now sleet) to where NOS was having a grand old time.

It was a dark lonely walk along an abandoned rail line and I was not in the best of moods, but I still had the good sense to call the local cops before I got to the house. See, I figured that arriving in a normally quiet residential area in the small hours after Halloween night and having to deal with a confrontational teen or teens there might be a disturbance.

My hat is off to the cops! The chief and a patrolman BOTH came to meet me and accompanied me to the door. Of course there was a bit of surveilance before we knocked and we figured that even though there were a couple of adults present there was underage drinking going on. The chief had me knock and the Kidz inside scattered. When the adult who answered the door began to cover for NOS, chief stepped out of the shadows and that was that.

NOS came to the door and chief gave him two options, go home with me or go to Juvi Det with him. Meanwhile the patrolman was rounding up Kidz who tried to sneak out hte back door.

That house was watched closely over the next few weeks - and busted I might add.

NOS and I did manage to snag a ride home so at least we didn't have to walk. The next day he apologized to Wife and me, and ever since he's been a pretty good Kid. (Except for that dang fish hook in his lip thing and his gawd awful rock band.) He even made Eagle Scout and is working nightshift like me so he can help pay for college. But I can tell you that WAS NOT AN ENJOYABLE NIGHT!

That's just one of many stories I can tell, and as I said this one was relatively mild. Further, I would never say it was "worth it" just to appease those who think family life is all bright, sunny days and warm, fuzzy nights and the "joys of marriage and parenting" outweigh the troubles. For lots of people it's a long, hard ride and it tires the mind, body and soul.

Are you condeming me because I am honest - and man - enough to admit (in my experience - the only frame of reference I have) while marriage has for the most part been...ummmm...ok...I would like to try living and might enjoy the bachelor life? Wife's brothers - 3 of 4 - took that path. They have everything they could ask for and are happy as can be. The one who did get married had the relationship end in a divorce and now swears he'll never do it again.

So get a grip grl, there's no animosity inteneded. It's just different strokes for different folks. Apparently your perception of a man is the touchy, feely Alan Alda type. The kind who isn't afraid to cry and like Reggie Hamm says in his current pop song, "is dreamin' about babies". Good Lord that song makes my flesh crawl!

At some point you're going to have to face the fact that all men aren't like that and in fact some of us are offended, resenting the decades long attempt to emascualte the male of the species and bring equality to the sexes.

We have the right to our opinion and the last time I checked...hmmm...note to self, send email to John Ashcroft...the right to express that opinion.

Ok? Feathers unruffled? Kissy, huggy and make up?

LOL!! yeah, smooch, smooch ((prisoner6)).

To keep it brief, the mother bear came out in me and the claws were unleashed.

I can see from your story that you're a good man and a good dad; your family is lucky to have you. Parenthood is a calling where we all learn by doing, and it requires a lot of character-building, first and fore most on the part of the parent so we and everyone involved can survive, LoL!! We could certainly swap stories about search and rescue operations; I gave up on cars for a while after finding my Explorer in a ravine, then falling end over end as I attempted to get a closer view. This was car #2 that was totalled.

You have misconstrued my point totally if you think that Alan Alda types are my ideal. NOT touchy feely men, but ones who back their words with some action, as you did in your, ahem, Midnight Run. That's a stand up guy.

Your friends certainly came out of the woodwork to stick up for you, so that counts for something.

I have to say that your humour and Laz's was missed by me. The segue from the article to your comments eluded me and my interpretation was that you and Laz saw OJ as the poor picked on father. My faux pas.

Humour is one of the reasons's why I enjoy FR; it leaves me sputtering at the monitor at times, and the men who post here are the best at that. So yes, you are certainly entitled to humorously bewail your fate as a husband and a father. It's the only way we keep our santity at times.

So now I'm back to my happy self and I wish you a happy day.

Good! We need more women like you!

I can see from your story that you're a good man and a good dad; your family is lucky to have you.

Thank you. I'll pass that along to them but I doubt they'll buy it...sigh.

This was car #2 that was totalled.

Stolen? Not a fun experience. As far as cars go I'm still a gearhead but can't wait to save up enough for my Segway. With all the crazies on the road, the less I have to drive the better.

You have misconstrued my point totally if you think that Alan Alda types are my ideal.

Touche...admittedly I WAS reaching. You wouldn't be here if you were that type!

Your friends certainly came out of the woodwork to stick up for you,

You've been here long enough and have bookmarked enough articles to know how things work. Wish more folks did the same! As a rule, FReepers stick together...well...mostly..sorta...in a way.

your humour and Laz's was missed by me.

Well we were being quick. It was all pretty thin.

Humour is one of the reasons's why I enjoy FR;...It's the only way we keep our santity at times.

Yuppers, that's the truth. It's also in our bylaws..."we always have fun doing it(being conservatives) ...HOO YAH!

...I wish you a happy day.

Back atcha! I'll look forward to more of your posts. That's the other great thing about FR. We meet so many fantastic people, exchange ideas, challange each other, further the conservative movement and make long lasting friendships. And of course I DO understand your points about OJ. Laz and I were just being flippant as were are often wont to do LOL!

"You really are laughable."

If you don't stop abusing me so often your husband is liable to get suspicious. And I saw you passing out smooches to two of the worst people on FR, but not me, so you stiffed me again. Don't worry, I can take it.
