LONG BEACH -- A substantial fee increase was proposed Tuesday by the California State University's chancellor, who said it was the only way to preserve access to the nation's largest university system in the wake of continuing budget cuts.

Under the proposal before the CSU's Committee on Finance, undergraduate student fees would increase by $396 to $1,968 a year and graduate fees would increase by $348 to $2,082.

Then, again, how much revenue would be gained if illegals were charged non-resident fees?

I think you assume that they would stay in school. Not clear to me that they would. Not so great a deal at that price.

Not the CA taxpayer's job to keep them in school, since they are illegal. How will they afford a 5 fold increace in admissions anyway?

Didn't say it was anyones job but their own to stay in school. It would make my day to see them on the bus back to TJ.

"Students won't get every class they are looking for. ... But they will get the classes they need," Reed said. "If we do this, we can maintain access."

I think he means "they will get the classes we dictate that they need...". Students aren't really getting the classes they need; sometimes extra years of schooling are necessary to get scheduled for the ones they need. However, they are being forced to take mandated nonsensical courses that are the faves of the PC and leftist crowds. Drop the b*lls**t courses, save some money, and let the kids learn some true skills.
