See alsom from Alexa's help FAQ:
Question:
Can I hide the Alexa Toolbar?
Toolbar Basics
Yes, Alexa Toolbar 6.5 can be hidden. Click on View at the top of your browser window, go to Toolbars, and click on Alexa to hide it. To show the Toolbar again, just go back and click Alexa to open it again. When you hide the Toolbar, all new browser windows will have the Toolbar hidden as well.

If you'll be hiding the Toolbar a lot, you may want to put an Alexa button in your browser chrome near your standard forward, back, and home buttons (if you're using Windows XP, the button will probably already be there). Clicking this Alexa button will hide and show the toolbar. To add this button, right-click near your standard browser buttons and select Customize from the drop down menu. Find Alexa under Available Toolbar Buttons, click on it, then click the Add button. Click OK and you'll see an Alexa button near your standard browser buttons.

Previous versions of the Alexa Toolbar cannot be hidden.
