Park Ranger Cites Militia Leader, Seizes His Gun

A National Park Service ranger cited militia leader Chris Simcox Sunday for carrying a loaded weapon and operating without a permit at Coronado National Memorial in southeastern Arizona.

The chief ranger at the park south of Sierra Vista, Thane Weigand, said it appeared Simcox and William Dore were conducting a patrol of the border. "They were doing a special activity inside the park that's not sanctioned by the park," Weigand said.

Simcox, founder of the Tombstone group Civil Homeland Defense, has been conducting citizen patrols of the border area, but he said that's not what he was doing Sunday afternoon. He said he was simply hiking with Dore.

They were driving along Border Road when they came to a fence with a sign that said no vehicles were permitted, Simcox said. So they parked the van and walked past the fence along the road, not knowing the fence was the park boundary, Simcox said.

"Next thing I know, there's somebody waiting in the bushes for us," Simcox said.

It was a park ranger, who said she had been watching the pair, knew who they were and what they were up to, Simcox said. He and Dore were detained for about 3 1/2 hours, and some belongings were seized, Simcox said. Those belongings included a scanner, two two-way radios, his camera, a cell phone and his pistol.

Weigand said the charges against Simcox and Dore are misdemeanors.

That's not what I said and you know it isn't what I meant. As I said, when I find someone on my land, all I want is for them to leave. I'm not going to call the cops unless they get out of hand. I guess you are one of those who believe that all of our laws are constitutional? I am sure that MANY are not. Doesn't matter if the judges say they are.

The Constitution does not prohibit stupid laws. It's your job to get involved at the legislative level and prevent the passage of stupid laws. People who elect represenatives who pass stupid laws deserve all the anguish they get. It is not the place of the courts to bail them out by inventing Constitutional issues where there are none.

Are you advocating the murder of men and women who work for the federal government?

It's amazing how a handfull of American's attempting to defend our borders, get some people's attention, yet, millions of illegal aliens that crash our borders routinely, at will, creating massive lawlessness, while defecating on our rules, our laws, and our sovereignty, goes mostly ignored by our leaders, politicians, and many others that claim to be concerned about the rule of law. Interesting, aint it CJ?

These are not "a handful of Americans attempting to defend our borders," but rather self-styled vigilante law-breakers and an unregulated and unlawful militia. Vigilantism can only further erode justice.

You seem a little paranoid. Try and stay focused. The real threat is not from these few trying to do what the government refuses to do.

What we have now is a court system that the founders would not recognize. My legislators should know who I am, since I have sent them enough letters. They just don't give a rat what I think. They don't care what you think either. Just send them your money.

In a nutshell, Prop 187. The people voted, we won and the government burned our ballots, and declared our free election illegal.

not knowing the fence was the park boundary, Simcox said.

Great, The Border Protectors don't know where the hell the border is located.
This situation is sure to have a happy ending.

Did you leave behind some trash, just to show that Ranger who's boss? Perhaps fell a tree or two, as a sign of man's triumph over nature?

When you get a chance, google 'leave no trace'.

You seen the latest news about illegal aliens crawling all over the USS Kennedy and other U.S. warships.

And some of you are all paranoid about these 10 guys patroling our borders.

LOL!

"Possession or use of firearms or other weapons in all National Park System (NPS) areas is prohibited"

Is a National Monument an "NPS area?" Perhaps, since the Coronado N.M. is listed at the NPS site. There's also a list of special regulations for various parks at http://www.access.gpo.gov/nara/cfr/waisidx_01/36cfr7_01.html, but CNM isn't on the list. This isn't in the Morning Report http://data2.itc.nps.gov/morningreport/morningreportold.cfm?date=2003%2D01%2D27%2000%3A00%3A00

Hey, I thought you may enjoy this. But don't let this get in your way of attacking a few Americans concerned about our borders.

JACKSONVILLE, Fl (AP) -- The Navy discovered 65 illegal immigrants among the workers hired to renovate the USS John F. Kennedy at Mayport Naval Station. Eleven illegal Mexican immigrants were arrested and charged yesterday with possessing false documentation. The other immigrants are still at large.

The Navy discovered the illegal workers during a routine review of the status of foreign-born workers hired by the contractors and subcontractors renovating the carrier. The Naval Criminal Investigative Service then asked the Immigration and Naturalization Service for assistance.

The 11 men arrested worked for Moran Environmental Recovery. It is unclear whether Moran will face charges. The USS John F. Kennedy is getting a $200 million makeover to extend its service life another 15 years. About 25-hundred contractors will do the work and will be assisted by sailors.

NOTHING TO SEE HERE HUH?
