July 2nd 2003 for America and 1st August 2003 for us Brits (check the IMDB for most recent release dates). It's been 11 years and I've been waiting for this day ever since the credits started to roll at the end of T2. I've been driving my work colleagues insane, partly because my daily conversation is fuelled with various T3 news, a ridiculous amount of Schwarzenegger quotes and of course, playing the latest T3 teaser trailer over and over again!
So, what's it all about this time? Well, no one seems to really know the final plot. Everything is being kept very hush hush although there's plenty of rumours flying about, some sound quite believable, others are, well, a little sketchy...
In a nutshell, and I’m not 100% sure this is the confirmed storyline but… Judgement day came and went but Skynet is still about causing all sorts of problems - doing it’s very best to take over the world. Somehow, John Conner stumbles across Skynets evil plan. Now We’re not too sure of Conners current status and I’ve heard a mixture of theories related to this, one of which was John no longer has an identity – No credit cards, no fixed address etc etc – the second was John now owns his own computer company and “hacks” in his spare time. That sounds fine, although I can’t imagine anyone owning a company with no identity? Anyway, as I was saying… John Conner stumbles across Skynets dastardly little plan. Skynet catches on to Johns snooping, gets a bit upset and decides the world would be a better place without him. This time, however, a female Terminator has been sent back in time to dispose of him. To counteract this, John has sent back a T-800 (or possibly a T-850 - as per the text used in the official sites flash intro) to protect himself. Same as T2? Well, sort of, but there's a little more to it than that.
There will be a few familiar faces in the 3rd instalment and some new, fresh faces too. The female Terminator is played by the gorgeous Kristanna Loken. We also know Arnold Schwarzenegger will be reprising his role as the good old T-800. Kind of goes without saying really. No Sarah Conner (although rumour has it she will be featured in various flash back sequences). Linda Hamilton has decided enough is enough. Michael Biehn won't be returning as Kyle Rees. He threw a celeb strop when asked if the rumours he will be appearing in T3 were true. Angrily, Biehn responded "No, I am NOT in a cameo in T3. I am in no way involved.” steaming, he goes on to say "It's not Jim Cameron, period. And you can quote me on that!” So then, Mr. Biehn, you're not a fan of Jonathan Mostow then? You can check out his official site and read his violent outburst there (under the section "Direct from Michael").
John Conner will no longer be played by Edward Furlong, he’s been replaced by Nick Stahl, who is better know for his role in "The Man Without A Face", and epic war movie, "The Thin red Line".
The cast have also been joined by Claire Danes who plays Kate Brewster, a veternarian, kindnapped by the T-800.
One of the most concerning changes, and something a lot of people have been bitching about is the fact James Cameron will no longer be directing. He's been replaced by Jonathan Mostow who, I'm pretty confident can do a good job. I've read various reports about the guy and I reckon he can pull it off - it's just a vibe I have!
Anyway...
As I mentioned earlier, Skynet have developed a new terminator, this time "it" is female, she's practically unstoppable and as quoted by Stan Winston (the man responsible for the Terminator and T2 visual effects), "she will kick your ass!”.
Known as the "Terminatrix" or “TX”, she has the ability to change shape (although not confirmed), disappear, control other mechanical objects (that includes our good friend, the T-800) and beat the shit out of anybody that gets in her way. The fact she can control other mechanical objects makes the plot rather interesting. There's already been indication that Arnold will be taken over by the Terminatrix, playing a good Terminator and also a bad Terminator. Bring it on! As nice as it was to see Arnie play the good guy, it will certainly be great to see him back as an evil Terminator. Maybe not for the duration of the movie but some of it will be cool.
Since the new trailer has been released and as indicated in our earlier News reports, it appears the TX also owns a rather tasty looking plasma weapon, which is part of her right arm – you can see it put to use in the trailer – the scene (which only lasts a second or two) where Arnie is blasted 80 yards through a room. She can run faster and is designed to hunt down other cybernetic organisms – She will also use her female charms to get what she wants and when that fails, presumably she will revert back to the good old fashion method of destroying anything with a pulse.
So that's the female terminator and the lead "bad guy" role. What other surprises do we have in store? Robots! Lots of robots! As shown on the official site first and then in the trailer, there’s also some rather interesting looking robots. Some armed with mini-guns and others have the ability to hover; armed with minuture missiles. Judging by whats going on in the trailer, these robots appear when the T-800, John Conner and Kate Brewster are in the Skynet complex.

Oh well, she's still going to kick future Governor's -ss.

John looks like Malcom in the Middle

She's a mean one

Classic
Looks like Malcom in the Middle got himself a nice Glock 18 with a 33 round magazine in the trailer.
That trailer is powerful stuff by the way.
