"...He scaled a fence to get to the other side of the street, cutting his finger, then waved down a driver who was about to take his child to school. Dekkers told the man he had just crashed into the river and asked if he would call an ambulance, police or take him to the hospital.

But the man said he had to take his child to school. Another neighbor walking a dog offered to take him, and about that time the ambulance arrived..."

I predict the usual hand-wringing suspects will be all over this...

Truth be told, if I've got my kid and the car, and someone soaking wet tries to flag me down, he's SOL.

If I'm alone, and I size him up as OK, it's different.

Sad, isn't it, that the person didn't stop because they had to bring their child to school? In this day and age I don't know if I'd be real quick to let him in my car either. I'd definitely stop and get him help though.

This is what would be running through my brain..."Oh my Lord...is he okay? He's flagging me down...my child's in the car...is the door locked? (rolling down window slightly) 'Are you okay?' I would ask. Cold, wet man asks if I would drive him to a hospital, as he just crashed his helicopter into the water. I give him the thrice over (I am human), silently ask God to protect my child and myself, and say to my child, 'What would Jesus do?'"

What did the brave firefighters & rescuers on 9-11 choose?

Goodness...pop the trunk, get on your cell phone, and "do unto others..." The U.S. Marines stand for Semper Fidelis...Always Faithful. It's what elevates them above the rest. Those who even show a hint of Semper ME, are weeded out.

John 6:38-40KJV
For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of Him that sent me. And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which He hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day. And this is the will of Him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on Him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.
