my buddy said he saw one show where they checked out the Russian wives thing ... said ZERO out of 100 marriages survived the first year or two ... were they slanting the truth or was is accurate I wonder? (I'm sure I can't read someone's mind if they're thinking in Russian ... maybe it would have to be a reverse "Firefox" ... if you want your husband to respond, you must think in English) ... hehe ...

yep ... have to agree ... one gal told me she got rid of her husband because he told the same jokes all the time ... while I can appreciate the predictability of such, it would seem the guy would have had to hire a joke-writer ...

Maybe because people are living longer? If the average life span for women is approaching 80 with many living longer, I'm not surprised that women don't want to "settle down" at 21.
Cohabitation plays a part too. For guys, why buy the cow if you can get the milk for free?
Also, many marriages in the past were informally "arranged" parents would prod son to introduce himself to parents' friend's daughter. Now, for the most part, the kids are on their own.

Men now see the way the tides are running in divorce and family (custody) courts, and don't see a need to give half of their stuff, plus alimony, plus child support, to someone who will "go find herself" after a few years.
I'll bet it's a lot easier to find yourself when someone else is paying the freight.
