CORVALLIS, Ore., Jan. 22 /U.S. Newswire/ -- In a petty attempt to squash and censor free speech, unknown individuals early Wednesday morning stole more than 2,600 small wooden crosses from the OSU College Republicans just hours before the crosses were to be displayed Wednesday in a planned "Cemetery to the Unborn."

The wooden crosses were stolen from the bed of OSU College Republican President Chad Robinson's pick-up truck parked outside his Corvallis residence sometime between 1 a.m. and 5 a.m. this morning. The thieves left one solitary cross lying on the hood of Robinson's pickup-and stole more than 2,600.

The Corvallis Police have said they are investigating the matter and as of 9 a.m. had no new information to provide.

"The fascist left on campus consistently use fear and intimidation to suppress the voice of those they disagree with. Regarding the incident at OSU, I fail to see the difference between stealing those crosses and burning them," said College Republican National Committee Chairman Scott Stewart.

The OSU College Republicans had planned to mark the 30th Anniversary of the Roe vs. Wade decision by erecting 3,615 cross cemetery in memory of the number of unborn children lost each day in the United States to abortion. Despite the setback, the College Republicans this morning placed 1,000 crosses on the MU Quad which they had stored at a separate location.

"The Cemetery may have 1,000 crosses instead 3,600-but that doesn't take away from our purpose" Lee Vasche, State Chairman of the Oregon College Republicans. "We can only assume that a few small-minded bigots at OSU decided that free-speech only applies if you are pro-abortion."

Having lived in Oregon for many years, I can attest to the fact that it is a hotbed of ultra liberalism. But thankfully there are many strong conservatives and right thinkers as well. But Universities are curently pits of venom and anyone with college age kids should seriously re-consider their educational options.

Comnservative Oregonians need to wake and handle this on their own. There are enough conservatives in Oregon, that if each conservative sent one cross, there would be hundreds of thousand crosses.

Interesting you should mention that. My son and I just went through that same decision making process.

My son is 18 and just finished a private school, thank God. We've decided that the Universities in our area, and are available to us, are not the best choice for him now, given the myriad of destructive influences there.

Instead, we have decided to get him started in his own small business. That way he can be-his-own-man and under my ideological influence, and not that of some raving lunatic posing as a pedagogue.

An ideal source of the wood, would be the trees that got burnt up last year in the enviral fires. That would have a double message.

We had a similar incident to this when I was CR's a few years back. The conservative and pro-life clubs on campus put up crosses on the campus mall like this for an anti-abortion event and during the night one of those feminist lesbo types came through and started kicking them down or something. There was actually a good deal of outrage on campus and the school took measures to make sure they weren't vandalized again. But that was at a Catholic university, and they were friendly to pro-life messages unlike most state schools.

Education is an area of great interest to me. I was raised in an ULTRA liberal academic family (PHD's galore) and I got converted away at an early age. So I grew up in the leftist academia atmosphere - up close and personal. It's not a pretty sight. I homeschooled my children for much of their education.

Universities are basically re-education camps, homosexual recruitment centers and whorehouses. People like your son are so fortunate. Rush Limbaugh is an example of an achiever who had almost no higher education.
