Well, here is the last installment of the after-action reports for the DC Chapter. There were 80 people at the Marine Barracks so there are many more stories to tell about what happened during the anti-war march. To everyone on the front lines at the Marine Barracks, please fill in the blanks and share your experiences with the rest of us.

"You chose to be here; keep moving. No, you cannot go that way."

These folks could have left the march a block before. They got caught in the police lines set up to protect the Marine Barracks and the Navy Yard two blocks away. When you lay down with dogs (Worker's World Party) don't complain when you get flea bites.

Great report with more details than I remember.

Besides getting the bird from them, one sign that was a standout read "F Bush. He is a louse and I hate him." No doubt from an English major at a leftist college.

Your reports make me feel like I was there :>)

Monday morning the security folks were replaying the action on M St SE. Apparently "Rev" Jackson left the parade when it turned down Eighth Street off Constitution but rejoined when it got to the Navy Yard. I guess he didn't want to be photographed in front of the Marine Barracks at 8th & I or maybe he did want to have a face down with Freepers after he was chased off in Florida two years ago.

One final note the Anarchists left a couple of flags flying from street lamps on M St. I'm waiting to see how long they stay up.

There was a guy dressed up as Uncle Sam with a Pinocchio-style nose.

Bill Clinton wrapping himself in the flag again.

It certainly was fun taunting the face-coverers:

"Cowards cover their faces, cowards cover their faces!"

Some of them did pull their scarves down, but NONE of the bandana-wearers did.

I'm finally starting to feel clean again, many hot showers after enduring their spew.

I'll admit I saw 3 American flags flown properly among the 30,000. Lots of profanity and the middle finger. There was one guy who yelled "When we're attacked we should turn the other cheek". I yelled back "Tell that to the families of the victims of the World Trade Center!". You should have seen the expression on his face. That shut him up.

I made several signs of the most beautiful graphic Registered created of Dubya dressed as Uncle Sam with the U.S. Flag as a backdrop. I got a lot of requests from, a certain segment of the "public service" of which I am not at liberty to mention, as to where they could get a copy of the pic. [wink, wink, nudge, nudge]

On the other side of one of the signs I wrote "The A.N.S.W.E.R. is...THEY'RE COMMIES!...and wrong!". On the other sign I wrote "GIVE PIZZA CHANTS". The PIZZA CHANTS sign is the one I held onto. I would yell at them, "I'M FOR PIZZA. YOU'RE FOR PIZZA. WE ALL AGREE - PIZZA, PIZZA, PIZZA!" That managed to elicit a lot of smiles, laughter and thumbs up. Then I would spin it around so they could see the George Bush/Uncle Sam side. Their smiles quickly turned to frowns.

Most of the yelling and chanting on their side didn't REALLY have so much to do with the war as much as it was:

MONEY FOR JOBS
NOT FOR WAR

MONEY FOR HEALTHCARE
NOT FOR WAR

MONEY FOR SCHOOLS
NOT FOR WAR

MONEY FOR HOUSING
NOT FOR WAR

Money for [fill-in-the-blank], not for [their excuse du jour].

Angelwood, thank you for the report full of wonderful images of the anti-antiwar freep. Freepers were valiant and articulate to a degree that makes it rank among the great freeps of all time. Congratulations to all who braved the mob and the cold.

Excellent report, as always. I felt as if I was there, except I wasn't cold. Thanks for flagging me.

The profanities and screaming fits from the peace marchers continued. Most of them were quite angry for a bunch of peace and love types.

Isn't this just typical. The supposed peace lovers seem to be so full of anger.
